Junior Golf Ireland Program
Aim of JGI
JGI wants you to learn the game of golf in school or a club in a fun environment so that you will play the game for as long as you like at a level which you feel comfortable. This might mean that some golfers will play loads and reduce their handicap a lot, maybe even play for their country and for others it might mean that they will play golf so that they can spend time with their friends and have fun. Whichever way you choose to play golf JGI wants you to enjoy it and play it for life!
What is the Junior Golf Ireland Coaching Programme?
The Junior Golf Ireland Coaching programme is a skills based coaching programme that has been designed to support the work of PGA Professionals and is a structured programme using an 18-hole coaching format at Level 1 and covering all aspects of the game at Level 2. Player Manual 1 covers all the necessary skills required to start, play and develop the game of golf for both boys & girls from the ages of 8 -12 years old, while Player Manual 2 targets those who have completed manual 1 and beginners from 13-16 years. The Junior Golf Ireland Coaching Programme has the full endorsement and support of the PGA Irish Region, the GUI, and the ILGU.
